Easter Lockers!

Easter is upon us and I always look for an unusual way to give treats to my two grown kids. We just got in little metal lockers ($12.00 with a lock and keys) and metal red First Aid boxes
($24.00 with dividers) that are the perfect "basket". So I stuffed them with simple first aid supplies and waterproof matches (they go up in the mountains and snowboard) and will encourage them to put them in their cars! Useful Easter goodies! Now for the more traditional Easter fare we have lots of wonderful bunnies and chicks from some of our best vendors that would make your Easter table sparkle. Add a few of our miniature double primroses and give them as gifts to your dinner guests. So come get your Easter supplies from Farmhand Feed & Home Company. Have a very nice Easter......

Behind the boots in the picture you will notice real funky plastic pink flamingos! Only $13.95 for a pair... How retro!

Birds are a recurring theme at Farmhand because Mary loves them. So how cute are the glass and metal bird knobs? Very cute says Mary wondering where she can use some at home!

Our favorite new item is the round bird cage lamp. It comes with it's own little flock of cute birds on perches and is $95.00. A wonderful lamp ready to light up your home.

Go organic!

They say you can see anything on the web and I guess this post proves it. Here's a picture of our new Green Earth Farm Organic Fertilizer made by our friends Dale and Emily. I go visit Dale's farm and marvel at the size of everything she grows. Emily does creative hanging baskets and uses their fertilizer also. So we asked them to mix up some fertilizer for us to sell. It has cottonseed meal, kelp meal, dolomite and lime, rock phosphate and fish meal. It sell for $1.50 a pound and it makes things grow! So come get some for your garden and flowers. Then Dale also recommended Fish & Poop liquid for watering with once in awhile. It is in stock too. Be very glad you can't smell everything on the web (I imagine that will be next!).
Dale and Emily also grow our 50 types of Heirloom tomatoes that will be here soon. It won't feel like summer if you don't grow tomatoes. We will be holding a free class on Saturday, May 8 from 1:00 to 4:00 on growing an organic garden and tomatoes. So mark your calender now and come sit on a hay bale to learn some organic gardening skills. We'll have lots of door prizes and tasty tomato snacks too. So after a long winter ...... let's garden!!!

Yellow or Pink birds?

We got in both yellow and pink birds today. The pink ones are my personal favorite cause I don't have to water and feed them. But the yellow ones are dang cute....(see pic above)! We sell thousands of Urban and Rural chickens here at Farmhand each spring. Today we got in Cuckoo Marans that lay a dark mahogany egg and by Friday we will have 10 -12 different breeds in. We always seem to have one or two that are weak and we try and nurse them back to health. Tonight we lost little Lolita but she was warm and safe and basically shared our families Corned Beef dinner from her little nest box... Come see the real chicks and the wonderful Pink Flamingo metal birds too! We can help you get started raising your own chickens and wonderful fresh eggs. Two or three chickens are not a lot of work yet can provide your family with some of the best eggs you have ever eaten. And they are a lot of fun and entertainment too!

Need a hand?

Everyone needs a hand in the garden this time of year. And we have some cool "hands" for you. They are old porcelain glove molds that would be charming nestled in with your herbs or flower beds. Either the neighbors will think you have totally lost your mind or they will smile... Or use them to hold your rings in the privacy of your bedroom. I'm putting mine in the garden.... only $24.00 each. Come get yours. We will tissue it and HAND it to you. Happy spring.
